Canada's Flag
20mm, copper
About this token:
- Barb writes: Just looked at the Canada's Flag token and although I've not
seen it, I can be sure of what it was issued for. Canada finally voted on
it's own flag design in 1964. Until that time, Canada used the Union Jack
as a flag. The debate over the flag design was very tough and finally the
simple Red on White Maple Leaf won over. This coin was most certainly done
to celebrate the fact that after nearly 100 years, Canadians now had their
own distinct flag.
